Codebreaker at the Science Museum

Just opened is a new exhibition all about pioneering computer scientist Alan Turing.

Today (23rd June) is the centenary of his birth and in celebration the Science Museum have put together the Codebreaker: Alan Turing’s Life and Legacy exhibition that tells the story of his many and varied achievements in the fields of computing, mathematics and artificial intelligence.

Click on the short video above to bring to life this story and give you a flavour of the exhibition.

The Science Museum has also developed some codebreaker challenges with GCHQ. They’re for 11-14 year olds but still not easy!

And for adults there will be a Turing themed Lates next week, Weds. 27th June and the curator, David Rooney, will be doing tours of the exhibition. He really brings it to life (he’s in the video on the webpage) and so it’s very worth getting his personal commentary.
