mango-cigarettes asked: Hello! I might study in London this fall, and since I'm moving from Germany it'll be quite different I figure. However, can you tell me anything about East London? That's where my university, Queen Mary, is located. I heard it's a rough place, but is it really that bad? Also, are private accomodations (flats etc.) cheap? I'm still looking for a place to stay. :/

megocain asked: Hi! I'm hoping to visit London for about 10-11 days this winter, however I'll most likely be going alone. I'm actually fine with traveling by myself, but I'm a bit worried/unsure about safety. Are there any places that would be better than others to stay or certain parts of the city that I should avoid? Any other general tips/suggestions you might have?

We're off to the Olympics!
This week we have my nephew (13) and niece (12) staying with us, whilst my sister and her new husband go on a honeymoon Mediterranean cruise. We’ve been on the HMS Belfast and around the Tate Modern, and today we’re off up to east London to visit the site of the Olympic Games. Photos to follow!
